Contents Page Plan

These are my initial design plans for my soon to be created music magazine contents page, I may not apply all of these ideas to my final production, and furthermore as you can see in the two images above I used this Kerrang! contents page as a foundation to base by design plan around as I believe that it was an especially effective rock music magazine contents page.
Firstly I will include all of the main features of the magazine within the features section of the contents page near the bottom of the page in order to inform the reader of what content is within and throughout the magazine and where to find it. I intend on sectioning the different types of content by putting the correct information under different heading e.g. news and features etc.
Secondly I will include a charged subscription message and details so that readers can sign up and get the newest issues as they are released, this makes my magazine appear more professional and also makes it more personal for the reader as I will be providing them with an interactive option.
Moreover I will also feature where to find enticing and interactive content upon my contents page, I believe that having these features is essential to a successful magazine because readers can get more involved with the magazine by potentially winning freebies and taking part of the rock quiz and guide etc.
Moreover I will also feature an editor's welcoming message in order to make the readers feel welcome as they turn the page which could make them want to read further into the magazine. As well as make the magazine appear professional.
I will be using the space efficiently when creating this magazine, ensuring that I can include all of the small features that overall give the contents page a very professional appearance, firstly I will be featuring the different page numbers relating to articles within the magazine in order to make it easy to read, understand and navigate, I will also ensure to feature contact details, issue date and cover date, all of which will make for a more professional magazine.
I will be featuring several secondary images upon my contents page in order to make it more visually attractive, I also intend on using them as a tool of which I can anchor my articles etc. with. In addition I also intend on using relevant images throughout my contents page in order to make it appear more professional and effective.
I will be using a bar shape in order to seperate the top and bottom half of my contents page, making it easier to navigate. Moreover I will also be using this bar to feature the name of the magazine and provide some text such as "in this edition" in order to make it as clear as possible to readers that this is a contents page.
Moreover I also intend on using a main image very similar to the one used on the Kerrang! contents page as I feel that it consumes the space well, looks attractive and is also highly relevant due to the fact that the model within the picture is clearly a rock music artist, I intend on having my model wear dark clothes, as well as using a guitar as a prop in order to make them really appear as a rock music artist, therefore making my magazine more attractive and professional.
I have dedicated one quarter of the bottom half the page to an editor's message, within this quarter I will feature an editor's message, an up close image of myself (the editor) much like in the Kerrang! content's page and finally an editor's signature. I feel that these features are essential to a contents page as they make it more welcoming and relaxing for the reader but also makes it appear more professional
