Firstly I intend on using a band as my feature article throughout my magazine therefore for my main image I intend to either have the full band or as many members as possible within the picture, this could be affected by whether or not all of my models are available at the time or if it simply doesn’t work with my magazine and some of the members need to be edited out. I intend on having 4 members for my magazine and I will feature them all across my front cover, contents page and double page spread.

I intend on taking multiple pictures using different camera angles, depth of zoom and locations etc. in order to create as many compositions and possible so that I have a range of images to choose from. I intend on using a mixture of both artificial and naturalistic images throughout my product.

My front cover will most probably feature artificial (staged photography) whereas my contents page and double page spread will feature more of a mixture but predominantly naturalistic imagery. My front cover will use artificial engaging images in order to create a sense of direct address therefore making it more personal for the potential viewer and therefore my inclining to purchase, this is an effective tool to use when selling my magazine.

Throughout my images I will feature several suiting locations such as a recording studio, in order to capture some naturalistic imagery of the ‘band’ creating music, I intend on using these images of the ‘band’ within a recording studio upon my double page spread in order to provide a more in depth coverage of them within my feature article. Furthermore I will also be using a lot of dark backgrounds throughout my product in order to make the subjects within the image stand out. Some of my images will be edited so that there is no background meaning that I can place my models or props in front of text and upon my products without any unnecessary background, this will make my product appear especially professional.

In order to appeal to my target audience and truly create a product that resembles a real rock music magazine I will assure that my models are dressed accordingly to really resemble a true rock music artist. A stereotypical rock artist often has long or wild hair, is male, white and often wears dark informal clothes. If I applied as many of these stereotypes as possible to my models then it would enhance the quality of the magazine as a whole.

Finally I intend on using props in order to enhance the realism and professionalism of my product, for example I intend on having my models hold and use both a mic and a guitar in order to fulfil some stereotypes linking to rock music and provide a more diverse and entertaining range of images.

These are the three production pieces I have chosen to use as a foundation for my own personal production pieces, using my own images and by applying my own unique style and techniques in order to create my own realistic and high quality magazine.
